The head office of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) was awarded the first-ever sustainability award for improvement in operations. The building was given a 4-star certification under PhilGBC’s “Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence” (BERDE) system, setting it as a “Country Leader” in sustainability standards.
Upholding its mission to set the standard for being sustainable, the BSP head office building is now with the likes of the Mandani Bay Suites in Cebu, and the Arya Residences in Taguig. These buildings were also awarded 4 stars under the BERDE system, setting examples in their respective cities.

The BSP-HO was also awarded a 5-star rating by the Department of Energy (DOE) in 2022 for compliance with the ‘Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act.’
‘This is the beginning of a new set of existing buildings being transformed to be green,’ said PhilGBC Chief Executive Officer Christopher C. de la Cruz, who expressed his hopes for existing buildings to strive to improve operations and their overall sustainable image.
