MANILA, Philippines – Commuters relying on the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) experienced disruptions on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, as the train line implemented limited operations due to an electrical fault. The issue, located between the Redemptorist-Aseana Station and Baclaran Station, led to a partial shutdown of the line for several hours.

The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the private operator of LRT-1, announced the limited operations at approximately 8:54 AM. During this period, trains were only running between Gil Puyat Station and Fernando Poe Jr. Station (formerly Roosevelt), operating both northbound and southbound. Services to and from Baclaran and Redemptorist-Aseana stations were suspended as engineering teams worked diligently on-site to address the problem.

The LRMC assured the public that the temporary measures were crucial for ensuring the safety and reliability of the entire LRT-1 system. Their engineering and maintenance teams conducted a thorough assessment of the catenary facilities before proceeding with necessary repairs.

By 5:38 PM on the same day, the LRMC successfully completed all repairs and comprehensive assessments, allowing LRT-1 to resume full operations. Trains are now running end-to-end, from Fernando Poe Jr. Station to Dr. Santos Station and vice versa. The LRMC extended its gratitude to passengers for their understanding and patience during the inconvenience.

Commuters were advised to plan their trips accordingly and to check official LRMC channels for real-time updates throughout the day.
