New Operator and Investments
Since September 2024, NAIA has been managed by the newly formed New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), following a ₱170.6-billion concession agreement with the Department of Transportation (DOTr). The deal outlines capital investments and operational improvements for the main purpose of modernizing the airport and improving the experience for all passengers.
President of NNIC Ramon Ang has expressed the SMC-led consortium’s gratitude for the continued growth of Philippine air travel, emphasizing the resurgence of passenger confidence in NAIA services as a motivation for the record-breaking results. NNIC’s focus is on improving operational efficiency and enhancing the overall experience for travelers at NAIA, setting the stage for further growth.
“This growth is a clear sign that confidence in air travel has returned, and it motivates us to work even harder,” Ang said. “Our goal is to ensure that NAIA provides a better experience for everyone—passengers, airlines, and partners alike.”
NAIA’s achievements in 2024 not only reflect a recovery in aviation but also signify a positive trajectory for the Filipino economy. Continued investments and improvements position the airport for sustained growth in the upcoming years.
