The transmission line was partially energized in July and is now set to greatly improve the transmission infrastructure in Cebu, the region’s load center, by having a transmission line providing power in and out of the province.
The project started in 2017, was later refiled in 2019 to address the components and cost, and was only finally approved in 2022, experiencing setbacks due to challenges in cooperation from the local government and some landowners.
The CBIP aims to improve the overall power concerns in the region looping within Cebu, Leyte, and Bohol. It is one of the most recent projects the NGCP has finished and now fully operates in the country.
