Pasig City, June 30, 2025—A devastating blaze swept through a densely populated neighborhood in Barangay Rosario, Pasig City, on Monday night, reducing more than 100 wooden homes to charred remains and displacing around 50 families.
The fire, which ignited just before 8 p.m., quickly escalated, triggering a 1st alarm within five minutes and reaching a 3rd alarm by approximately 8:20 p.m. Hundreds of residents were caught off guard as the blaze tore through light-material houses, leaving little time to salvage belongings.
Local firefighters managed to contain the fire later in the evening, with officials reporting it was under control by around 10:45 p.m. One person sustained injuries during the incident, though no fatalities have been reported.
Local officials and eyewitness accounts estimate that the inferno destroyed over 100 houses. Manila Bulletin described the aftermath as homes “turning into rubble,” while ABS‑CBN reported that the blaze affected over 500 people across approximately 100 households.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Pasig has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, relief efforts are underway to assist the displaced families, with aid agencies mobilizing basic necessities, temporary shelter, and medical support to the victims.
Pasig Mayor’s office and barangay officials continue to coordinate support, prioritizing the provision of relief goods and a secure place for families to rebuild their lives following the tragedy.
