DPWH Builds and Rehabilitates Roads and Construction in Metro Manila

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) have completed the following roads and construction as of 2024:

 

  • Over 1,300 km. of roads have been built and underwent rehabilitation in Metro Manila.

 

  • Some 1,386.14 km. of roads have been constructed, widened and rehabilitated from July 2022 to May this year.

 

  • 17,053.06 lineal meters in bridges 

 

  • 661 flood control drainage systems 

 

  • 237 public buildings 

 

  • 479 rainwater collector system projects 

 

  • 461 school buildings

 

  • Some 32 roads and bridges were rehabilitated along the major thoroughfare under EDSA Rehabilitation Projects.

 

  • 8 projects were retrofitted in preparation for “The Big One” or a major earthquake.

 

  • 11 state universities and colleges buildings were built by the DPWH-NCR.

 

  • 7 projects under the Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program.

The following bridges are for retrofitting this year: The Lagarian Bridge 1, Delpan Bridge, San Juan bridge (northbound), Magallanes flyover (southbound).

 

According to DPWH-NCR director Loreta Malaluan, the budget allocation for NCR is PHP61.318 billion which is higher than last year’s PHP55.700 billion.
