PHILCONSTRUCT VX has arrived in all its virtual glory.
As seen above, PHILCONSTRUCT VX has wholeheartedly embraced all the aspects of hosting a virtual show, and more. One would expect a static menu with old-fashioned links to the respective conference and exhibition domains. Instead, visitors are greeted with an interactive main hall, filled to the brim with animated models, videos, and a chatbox for those who require assistance in roaming the “convention center.”
While not as flashy as last year’s booths, there’s a bit of charm left with these virtual booths.
In the exhibit hall, visitors can click on and interact with numerous company representatives coming from all sorts of businesses, from construction material suppliers to large-scale industry names. One can even visit the PHILCONSTRUCT VX booth to see what they have in store for next year’s exhibition.
By the way, the brochures are not actually clickable. The icons above it, however, are.
There’s also a Featured Products area where interested visitors can inquire on a product by clicking on them to launch a live chat with their respective suppliers. The power of business and networking at the comfort of your own home.
Yes ma’am, sir, ‘wag nang mahiya! Inquire na!
Without a moment to spare, PHILCONSTRUCT VX kicked off the morning with an online lecture with a Technoforum online lecture focusing on Cloud-Based Energy Metering Platform for Commercial & Industrial Application, featuring Engr. Rolando P. Vasquez as the speaker. It was certainly an interesting seminar given that he covered a variety of topics in under an hour, including the Republic Act No. 11285, or the “Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act”, a law that seeks to promote energy efficiency and conservation within the country
Engr. Rolando P. Vasquez discussed energy metering, sustainable living, and more in his 9AM Technoforum seminar.
The second lecture delved into the importance of technology in the construction industry, with Rick Yelton of World of Concrete discussing What New Technologies Contractors Can Use to Increase their Safety Procedures for the first half. Stacia Van Zetten of Exact Technology Corporation also discussed How Can Contractors Use Machine Learning, AI, and Robotics to Improve their Relationships to Architects and Owners afterward. The importance of taking on innovative solutions in this line of work should not be underestimated. New machineries and technologies will undoubtedly help out our engineers in this new normal.
Three more seminars followed afterward, including Building Indoor Environmental Quality: The New Imperative with Architect Emmanuel Punsalan, Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation Technology with Engineer Dominador de Guzman Castro, Jr, Fundamentals of Rigging Course by Mr Clemente Ray Dorosan of ACEL, and Innovative European Technologies by the EU Business Avenues in South East Asia by Mr. Romain Gourmet, Dr. Maarit Kahila-Tani, Technical Engineer Alberto Fiorenzi, Dr. Domenico Ricci, and Mr. Rob Connell.
More seminars to come for the next two days. Keep in mind that the free lectures are mixed in with the paid ones, so if you want to learn more, feel free to register at https://philconstructvx.philconstructevents.com.
Overall, the virtual event feels well done, even if exploring a physical convention feels better than clicking and looking at product stock photos. Still, the convenience of networking this easily with numerous companies makes it extremely efficient and safe for everyone involved. Will PHILCONSTRUCT 2021 brings something new to the table? Who knows? One thing is for sure, it’s that PHILCONSTRUCT VX does its best to impress amid the challenges of holding a virtual exhibition for the construction world. Let’s look forward to the day 2 of the event!
