The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has taken a significant step towards improving passenger experience with the opening of a centralized transport network vehicle service (TNVS) hub at Terminal 3. The new facility, operated by New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), aims to alleviate congestion and streamline traffic flow, especially during peak travel seasons.
The 6,000-square-meter hub has 18 loading bays, 401 parking spaces, and lanes specifically designated for TNVS transport vehicles. In order to guarantee effective traffic control, it also has numerous access and departure points. It is anticipated that this centralized strategy will greatly cut down on passenger wait times and curbside congestion.
NNIC General Manager Lito Alvarez stated that the centralized hub and diverse transportation options will bring more order and efficiency to the airport. He added that this is part of their commitment to making travel smoother and stress-free for every passenger.
Major ride-hailing operators, including Grab, JoyRide, and Angkas, have committed to deploying dedicated airport pickup drivers to the hub. This will ensure faster and more efficient service for passengers, particularly during peak travel periods. Passengers without ride-hailing apps can also make on-the-spot bookings at dedicated lounges for these services.
The opening of the TNVS hub is part of NNIC’s broader efforts to modernize and rehabilitate NAIA. By collaborating with industry leaders, NNIC aims to deliver a world-class airport experience that meets the needs of today’s travellers.
As the holiday season approaches, the new hub is expected to play a crucial role in managing the influx of passengers and ensuring a smoother travel experience for all.passengers and ensuring a smoother travel experience for all.
