Set to open in December this year, the Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange (TCITX) is aiming to improve the lives of commuters by creating a hub for various modes of transportation condensed in a spacious area. Spearheaded by the ARCA South Integrated Terminal Incorporated (ASITI), a subsidiary under Ayala Land Inc., with a goal of giving commuters from Batangas and Laguna an easier means of traveling into the different parts of Metro Manila.
It will be similar to the current bus port for connecting the south and the north, the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), but will be bigger in terms of space and be connected to the currently under-construction Metro Manila Subway. The terminal will also possess a pedestrian walkway to the Philippine National Railway FTI station that is also under construction on the present date. The TCITX will have a centralized ticketing area and passenger concourse.
Buses in this new terminal will also be en route not only to the southern part of Luzon but will also be connected to terminals in Visayas and Mindanao. The opening of this new terminal aims to decongest other parts of Metro Manila, most especially Edsa, by providing a wider selection of public transportation means for commuters.
